The UK’s Red Dog, a specialist in Italian superbikes, has just listed an eye-popping collection of rare Ferrari Formula 1 cars from the last four decades for sale on James. Top of the pops is a 2006 Ferrari 248 F1 Car (above) listed at €2.4 million in original, race-ready condition. Designed by Rory Byrne and Aldo Costa and featuring a 785 hp V8 engine, it was Philip Massa’s No. 1 car for the 2006 Grand Prix season, which he raced alongside the great Michael Schumacher in a matching model. Despite a bit of a slow start, the car won seven of the last nine races of the ’06 season; overall, the 248 gave Ferrari nine race wins and four pole positions, and second place finishes in both the Drivers’ and Constructors’ World Championships.
Next up is a 1974 Ferrari 312 B3 F1 Car for €1.7 million. This was Clay Regazzini’s No. 1 car for the 1974 GP season. The car was completely restored by Ferrari after the ‘75 season and is perfect and ready to race. For €725,000 you can lay hands on a 1984 Ferrari 126 C4 F1 Car. This was Michele Alboreto’s No. 1 car for the 1984 GP season. It was then totally revised by Bob Houghton in England and is in perfect original condition and ready to race. Finally, for the bargain basement price of €625,000 you can get a 1994 Ferrari 412 T1, one of the ‘94 season team cars driven by Jean Alesi and Gerhard Berger. Alesi achieved 3rd position in the Brazilian GP in the car and Berger achieved 2nd position in the Italian GP with the car.
