Lancia Stratos to Be Offered at €400,000?

Back in August we speculated that the one-off Lancia Stratos – a redux of the iconic 1970s rally car – built by Pininfarina for German businessman Michael Stoschek could be headed for a limited production run. Now it seems that’s a step closer to reality, with nearly 50 customers lined up making it a viable proposition. They won’t have to shell out the €3 million it cost Stoschek to develop the thing either – just €100,000 for a slightly soiled Ferrari F430 and another €300,000 to have Pininfarina turn it into a nouveau Stratos.

For an added boost an F430 Scuderia can be used as the donor car. It’s a pretty lightweight package so what you end up with is a retro-styled rocket that can do 0 – 100 km/h in a mere 3.3 seconds, hit 200 km/h in 9.7 second, and on make a top speed of 170 mph. It seems like a lot to pay to have someone rip apart a Ferrari, and of course for that kind of cash you could get an original Stratos with an impressive racing pedigree on James. Clearly the better choice in our humble opinion.
