With high profile players like Bugatti releasing slightly updated version of winning concepts, it’s refreshing to see some smaller marques making their way in the supercar world, step by step.
The people over at Valkry stand proud with their feet firmly placed on both American and British soil. In Memphis, you’ll find Valkry Corporation & Exotic Cars South, a luxury automobile dealer. Meanwhile, on the other side of the pond, you’ll find the other (to me far more alluring) part of the business: Valkry Manufaktur. While the dealership has your Aston DB9′s, your 599 GTO’s and even a Ghost, but the real crown jewel of the Valkry collection can’t be found anywhere else: the eponymous Valkry Empyrean. The boldly profiled supercar features an 8-cylinder front mid Supercharged 7L enginer pushes the Empyrean to 635 hp with 540 lb/ft of torque. The claimed top speed exceeds 200 mph, hitting 60 mph in 3,8 seconds. Customization options include alcantara, carbon fiber and even wood grain detailing, if one swings that way.

We managed to track down representatives from both Valkry’s American distributor as well as the UK-based manufacturer for a chat about the Empyrean.
James: Where did the idea for the Valkry Empyrean come from?
Valkry: The concept of Valkry came from Robert (Valkry UK). He presented it to me almost two years ago, as he had been working on the design for more than 4 years. The name Empyrean came from Michael (Valkry USA). This name speaks to the Emperor’s Lifestyle!
James: Whom are you catering to?
Valkry: The Empyrean is built for the true motoring enthusiast. For the buyer who is looking for something a little different to the usual generic supercar. This is car for those who like all the upsides of a supercar without all the associated pitfalls such as running costs and accessability.
James: Why should I go for it rather than, let’s say, an Aston at a similar price point?
Valkry: Aston Martin has a wonderful pedigree, just as the other major OEMs, but the Empyrean is truely something special and more exclusive, and it allows for the pilot to get all of the accolades that he or she deserves as someone who appreciates the finer things in life!
James: Tell us a bit about the manufacturing.
Valkry: The manufacturing is handled in sections. Chassis are manufactured in the US with all body, interior , engine and safety systems completed in the UK.
James: What does the future look like for Valkry?
Valkry: The future for Valkry looks bright. As the global economy shifts back to norm and big gains are made on this global level, Valkry hopes to position itself in the arena with the likes of Aston Martin, Ferrari, Lamborghini and Spyker.

Depending on your configuration, an Empyrean will run you between $210,900 and $375,900. She’s for sale right here on JamesList.
