Considering that the past two weeks saw two record breaking classic car sales – a $40 million 1936 Bugatti Atlantic and a $20 million 1963 Ferrari 250 GTO changed hands – it would seem like an auspicious time to get into the business. Hence the well-timed news of the launch of a brand new auction house specializing in classic conveyances, aptly named Historics and based at Brooklands, the historic home of motor racing in the UK and namesake of the famous Bentley model.

Historics’ first sale will kick off June 2 with several million pounds worth of vehicles set to cross the block. Among the collectible motor cars on offer are a 1930 Bentley 4.5 liter Vanden Plas Tourer, estimated at £775,000; 1955 Aston Martin DB2/4 Mk. I Drophead Coupé, estimated at £130,000; a 1972 Ferrari 246GTS Dino, estimated at £70,000; a 1966 Aston Martin DB6 Mk. I Saloon, estimated at £60,000; a 1939 Rolls-Royce Wraith by HJ Mulliner, estimated at £38,000; and our personal favorite, not to mention the steal of the sale at only £4,000, this 1973 Jensen Healey with British flag livery that could turn any driver into Austin Powers. Yeah, baby.
