
In May, Michael Schumacher’s privately owned puke-yellow Bugatti EB 110 turned up on James and while it probably would be like driving the automotive equivalent of a never-ending epileptic fit, this week’s pick might actually be even less driveable – albeit a lot more interesting. This Benetton (yeah, the same people as the clothing empire) B194-8 was the very first car that won Schumi a world championship in 1994 in Adelaide, Australia (as a side note, roughly the same time Benetton was causing headlines with their rather controversial marketing). It’s in amazingly mint condition with the original 3,5l Ford-Crossworth ZETEC R air valve V8 engine.
It’s located in Frankfurt and the seller is asking €1,5 million, making for a rather pricy but nevertheless important piece of racing history, as Schumacher went on to become statistically the most successful driver Formula One has ever seen. The Benetton can be purchased right here on JamesList.
