Who else but a Russian oligarch would order up a 72-metre steel superyacht from a Turkish shipyard, hire a decorator from Monaco to fit it out like a floating bordello, tack on not one but two helipads, name the damn thing after a famed Moscow landmark – and then turn around and try to sell it again for €63.5 million before even taking delivery? That’s the story with Dunya Yacht’s Red Square, which is now being offered at that eye-popping price with delivery slated for 2011.
Designed by Diana Scott from the Monaco based studio Sterling Scott with naval architecture by Taka Yachts and interior flourishes by that master of overstatement Alberto Pinto, Red Square can accommodate up to 16 guests in sickeningly luxurious staterooms. In addition to the two helipads, she features an infinity pool, Jacuzzi, and massive exterior entertaining spaces. Power-wise twin 3,150 hp Caterpillar diesels deliver a maximum speed of 17 knots, a cruising speed of 14 knots and a range of 4,200 nautical miles at cruising speed. Hopefully more than enough to outrun your creditors.
