Blame it on the Lancia Stratos that we wrote about the other day, which turns out to have been the pet project of a German billionaire with enough cash to make it a reality – dodgy reports about new supercars simply can’t be ignored. Which brings us to the latest rumor making the rounds of the ‘Net: the Aston Martin Super Sport. What makes this different from all the other supercar concepts that come our way is the pricetag – a whopping €7.5 million. The vehicle, limited to just eight examples each in a different colour, is being billed as a collaboration between the famed British marque and Star Electric Cars France (SECF).
You may know SECF as the creator of those ludicrous Rolls-Royce golf carts, but they do also supposedly create one-off coachbuilt vehicles for celebrities, royalty, heads of state and such. Based on some sort of existing Aston Martin platform, the Super Sport would be a mid-engine engine sports car powered by a twin-turbo 5.4 litre V8 engine producing around 900 hp. Carbon fibre bodywork, gullwing doors, carbon ceramic brakes and a leather, Alcantara and carbon fibre interior round out what is an admittedly attractive design. With a concept like this one always has to wonder how “real” it is – but in this case if you’re actually willing to fork over the €7.5 million we’re pretty damn sure they’ll build you one.
