Wave Driver: 125M 7Cs Megayacht
We’ve seen design concepts superimposed from the automotive industry before in speedboats, but UK design firm Drive have adapted the concept to a megayacht with their 125-metre wave-killer. Designed to do 20+ knots, an impressive speed for a craft this size, the sleek yacht features a reverse bow minimizing wave impact, creating a smaller wake, and affording a longer range. The ‘wave’ motif which runs from the bow down the side to the stern allows the superstructure to be somewhat higher at the bow protecting the deck.
A sunken pool towards the front with a retractable cover provides shelter for swimming in poorer weather, and maximises deck space when not in use. There is also a rear ’surrounded’ Jacuzzi providing shelter and privacy for the owner. Interior-wise, Drive envisages a unique atrium space with a double curved staircase. In addition to a helipad, the yacht offers the usual watertoys found on vessels of this class and all the mod cons a man could wish for. With such a deadly design we’re sure this baby will find its way into production sooner rather than later.
