The 2010 Triumph Rocket III Roadster
To some folk Triumph motorcycles no doubt seem somewhat quaint, a relic of an earlier era of British dominance before Japanese superbikes came along and ra-ra-wrecked the place. The 2.3 litre Rocket III Roadster is Triumph’s big middle finger to those who don’t think the world’s oldest surviving motorcycle manufacturer still has what it takes. For 2010 Triumph has given the Rocket III even more muscle via an updated version of its iconic three-cylinder 2,294 cc powerplant.
Maximum power has increased over the outgoing Rocket III with torque up 15% to a mighty 221 Nm. 146 horsepower at 5,750 rpm and 807 lbs. on the scale makes for an impressive power-to-weight ratio. The bike’s suspension and brake components have been upgraded to match, with 43-millimeter upside-down forks and twin Kayaba shocks keeping the beast in line. Style wise we get twin chrome silencers and a reconfigured riding position with a shorter reach to the handlebars. As for colours, you only have a choice between two shades of black for this badass.
