Yachts can be inspired by many things. At the recent Antibes Yacht Show at the International Yacht Club d’Antibes and Port Vauban in the South of France which traditionally ushers in the opening of the Mediterranean yachting season, Dahm International showed one inspired by the Audi TT. Apparently there was just something about the “purist driving machine that combines the performance of a sports car with a unique design language.” Not to mention a nifty red-and-white color scheme. The Dutch shipyard based the Red Sula on its Jongert 3200M, a sophisticated 32.5-metre aluminum-hulled sloop.

Naval architect Tony Castro collaborated with Italian Giugiaro Design on the sleek, eminently seaworthy and speedy long-distance sailing yacht equipped with state-of-the-art technology and able to be handled by a small crew. The lower saloon is connected to the deck saloon in an open-plan arrangement, creating a large living and social area with a panoramic view. The spacious owner’s cabin and the twin guest cabins are located aft and were designed to ensure maximum privacy for all with accommodations for six in total. Don’t look for an Audi engine backing up the sail power however; she’s got a Scania down there, we checked.
