Regular James Spotting readers know that we sometimes highlight the work of promising automotive design students whose freedom from the constraints of pragmatism – and sometimes even reality – often result in extremely appealing concepts. Slavche Tanevsky, a design student at Munich University, is a case in point. He’s come up with what could well be the next evolution of the Reventon, dubbed the Ankonian after a breed of black-haired bull. The Batmobile-esque vehicle has a fairly narrow body, cab backward classical GT silhouette, and a complexity of soft and angular surfaces.
Tanevsky says the main themes behind the concept are “underground” and “hardcore”, reinforced by rendering in a combination of shiny black and matte charcoal. The designer also came up with a slightly more practical concept for the first hybrid Lamborghini that is scheduled for a 2016 launch, dubbed the Madura. A sleek and aggressive profile is married to a hybrid powertrain mounted up front, where the car has huge air intakes, a curvaceous hood and slim headlights. Looks wise it can’t compete with the Ankonian but if we had to guess which one might actually make it into production it’d win hands down.
