Porsche Boxster Spyder for 2011

At the upcoming Los Angeles Motor Show Porsche plans to take the wraps off its 2011 Boxster Spyder, an amped-up, stripped down and undeniably more attractive version of the Boxster S that’s something of a throwback to the famed 550 Spyder of yore. Those there’s a power boost of 10 hp over the Boxster S, bringing the total to 320 hp, the impressive performance of the Boxster Spyder is mainly due to the weight-saving measures employed by Porsche’s engineers, who managed to shave 89 kg of the Boxster S’s body fat.
The Boxtser Spyder is in fact the lightest Porsche in production. They did it by stripping out the regular Boxster’s daytime running lights, fog lamps, air conditioner and stereo, swapping out the seats for lighter versions, and ditching the automatic soft top for a manually-operated canopy style roof and a new rear deck. Paired with a PDK dual-clutch gearbox and Sport Chrono Plus package end result is a 0 – 100 mph clock of 4.8 seconds and a max speed of 267 kph. Best of all, the base Euro price is only €53,100.
