Panthalassa: Perini Navi Meets Lord Foster

Just launched from the famed Perini Navi yard in Viareggio, Italy is the 56-metre Panthalassa sailing yacht designed by British architect Lord Norman Foster. Designed specifically for the high-end charter market with rates from €200,000 per week, the all-aluminum alloy ketch can reach a maximum speed of 15 knots, rises to 59 metres in height fully rigged, and has capacity for up to 12 guests and a crew of 10. Designed as a fusion of contemporary living and the finest nautical heritage, the Panthalassa’s sail plan and hull optimization were conceived by racing-yacht legend Ron Holland to provide the perfect superstructure for Foster’s clean, modern aesthetic.
Outside the deck features a variety of places to relax and an informal outdoor eating area. Flexible, open living areas are the hallmark of the craft’s interiors characterized by a lounge, bar, library and boardroom all featuring glazed screens that can be opened to create a generous central saloon. The three decks are connected by an oval stair, which is surrounded by light-reflecting acrylic rods to mirror daylight back into the living areas. Primary materials include teak, saddle leather and granite table surfaces. Inside the cabins, leather wall paneling complements silk rugs and gold and black marble tiled baths. We’ll meet you on the Med.
