Rhode Island-based Outerlimits Powerboats is serious about speed. Their carbon fibre deck and epoxy e-glass hull construction process, using aerospace technology, materials and engineering, creates cigarette boats that are as fast, strong and light as they come – “exclusive mechanical art” as the company calls ‘em. Throw in a cargo load of luxury finishes and you’ve basically got an oceangoing Lamborghini. Their new 12.5-metre 41 Super Leggera, starting at about €450,000, born of a World Championship race boat, is a real killer, easily capable of speeds over 160 km/h.
A new hull design not only results in superior speed and handling, but also increases comfort with a softer ride. The cockpit sports a dash made of hand stitched leather and suede, a GPS chart plotter, and side-by-side stand-up bolsters with drop-down bottoms. The full cabin features a shower, a full V-berth, and two large mid cabin storage lockers. The 41 Super Leggera is available with a wide range of power options, from deafeningly loud to the the new silent underwater muffling system introduced by Mercruiser, and a host of exclusive finishes.
