Florida-based Magnum Marine, founded in 1966 and dedicated to making “sexy, high-end speedboats on a grand scale,” certainly lives up to that billing with its new 24-metre (80 ft.) model designed by Italy’s famed house of Pininfarina. The €6.5 million hand-laminated, high-performance craft is powered by twin 2400 hp MTU diesels coupled to Arneson surface drives for a top speed of about 60 mph. Even at that impressive velocity its deep-V hull cuts through the waves like a knife, making for a smooth, comfortable and quiet ride even in adverse sea conditions.
The Magnum Marine 80′s interiors are extremely spacious and can accommodate up to four double cabins. The demo model is finished with a minimalist interior mainly in teak, with large open spaces and two VIP cabins with en-suite baths, copious living and dining areas and crew accommodations (they gotta berth somewhere). All fittings were built in Italy and installed at Magnum Marine. Of course, since Magnum custom designs the interiors for each client, allowing for cabin configurations varying according to specifications, you could just make the whole damn thing into one big den of iniquity. Which is exactly what we would do.
