Italian automaker Lancia is set to launch its first powerboat at the Venice International Film Festival this weekend. Lancia collaborated with three other Italian firms on the project: Sacs, who produce luxury RIBs (rigid inflatables); FPT, a company in the Fiat Group and manufacturer of the “best in class” engines; and Martini, a regular partner of Lancias in the field of motor racing. The 13.10-metre fibreglass hulled Lancia Powerboat’s sensuous, sporty lines are the creation of talented boat designer Christian Grande. Read and blue Martini Racing colours grace the finished product.

Featuring a retractable hood, the boat can carry up to 11 people, and has a cabin that sleeps two. A weight to power ratio of about 7.5 kg / hp establishes it as one of the most powerful available. The two N67-560 engines by Fiat Powertrain Technologies generate 1120 horsepower, delivered at 3000 rpm, to propel you at up to 55 knots. Two buttons on the throttle levers modify the propulsion angle to move the screws higher or lower in the water, changing the angle of the hull with respect to the surface of the water and increasing speed or stability in rough water.
