Swedish supercar star Koenigsegg, riding high on its pending acquisition of Saab, has just unveiled the Trevita, an if-looks-could kill limited edition version of their scorching CCXR featuring a new shimmering diamond carbon fibre finish. Carbon fibre is nothing new to Koenigsegg, an early adopter of the material for automotive applications, but up until now it has only been available in the traditional black finish on their vehicles. The Trevita is the first Koenigsegg to feature the firm’s Diamond Weave Finish, while will no doubt be widely imitated.
The Koenigsegg Proprietary Diamond Weave, perfected at their headquarters in Ängelholm, involves coating the individual fibres with a diamond finish. The process is painstaking and achingly expensive, hence they plan to build only three Trevitas (“three whites”), making it one of the rarest super exotics ever. The 1,018 hp rockets will feature a double carbon rear wing, Inconell exhaust system, carbon ceramic brakes, airbags, paddle shifters, chrono instrument cluster, a custom navigation and entertainment system, tire monitoring and hydraulic lifting systems and more.
