We’d like to bring your attention to the Venom SS, a creation somewhere inbetween a motorcycle and car. The machine, which hosts a GM Supercharged SS motor, is officially registered as a motorcycle yet provides the stability and performance of a regular sports car. It’s certainly interesting to see something that actually looks so close to those conceptual 3D designs we get to read about again and again but usually never turn up as something street-legal. Embedded below is a YouTube video.

The Venom accelerates to 100 km/h in 4 seconds, and has a top speed of over 250 km/h. Not a big fan of the color? No worries, as six more options are available – get one for every day of the week! The Venom is custom built and the price as available on request. Click here to check out the Venom right here on JamesList. James managed to track down Kristopher Cottrell, who was willing the share some insight into the custom bike world.

James: Harley Davidson recently announced that they’re shutting down Buell. As a man inside the bike business, how do you feel the market is doing, what with the financial crisis and so forth?
Kristopher: I do agree 100% that the market for extra expenditures for toys like motorcycles, is at a low right now. That just means we all have to get more creative in our selling techniques – recession is a time for opportunity.

James: What do you think the attraction of a custom bike is, as opposed to buying from a “proven” brand so to speak?

Kristopher: Women love to buy purses and handbags. They can buy a handbag that cost $100 and there are some women that want the Louis Vuitton hand bag that cost $4,000. It’s all about status – same with motorcycles. There are some guys that buy the normal sport bike for $10,000, then there is the guy that spends an extra $40,000 to customize it and make it better. There seems to be a fascination with subconscious saying in your head, “look at me”. And it feels good when you know you have that hot item…
James: What does the future look like for Scorpion Customs?

Kristopher:
Based & built in the US, our second home is the UAE. Between the two countries, Scorpion Customs will spread its fabulous creations from country to country. Launching new products annually, we will be the first to offer clientele the hottest customs and trends from the US. We will be a trusting brand and portal for enthusiast’s to purchase custom built bikes to there specs and offer quality used bikes as well.
