Here’s your chance to live like a soft porn mogul of yore: legendary Playboy founder Hugh Hefner’s twin Mercedes Benz 600 Pullman limousines from 1969 and 1971 are being offered for sale by a New Zealand collector. The classic 6.3 metre long limos, the last of the hand-built Mercedes models, were ordered new by Hefner from the factory in Stuttgart. Both cars feature the rare (only 140 built) 6-door configuration, with forward facing seats at the centre doors, and a hydraulically operated reclining seat at the rear. Wonder what Hef used that for?
Both are painted black and feature flawless Zebrano wood paneling and tonnes of immaculate chrome, even inside the doors. The 1969 model is finished in black leather and the 1971 in red leather. They both have all the original factory privacy options, including curtains in the rear compartment, tinted glass, and a soundproof glass centre division with an intercom system. The 1969 models also features a refrigerated bar cabinet while the 1971 has a television. Both are priced at about €120,000. If only those seats could talk….
